VAGINAL AESTHETICS

VAGINOPLASTY

WHY IS IT PERFORMED?

Vaginoplasty is usually performed in women who have a weakening of the support of the pelvic organs and a widening of the vagina as a result of having had several pregnancies and deliveries. Furthermore, loss of firmness of the pelvic floor can also lead to uterine prolapse (bladder droop and fall), urinary incontinence, and low-intensity sexual intercourse.

To correct these problems, a reduction is made in the muscles around the vagina, which improves muscle tone and elasticity. In this way, the posterior wall of the vagina is strengthened, which improves the continence of the perineal floor and the disorders associated with this excessive dilation are solved.

The most common reasons for a vaginoplasty are:

  • Discomfort when wearing tight clothing or playing sports.
  • Vaginal dryness.
  • Pain
  • Itch
  • Loss of sensation during sexual intercourse.
  • Urinary incontinence.

INVOLVED RISKS:

Vaginoplasty is a simple surgical procedure, but with the risks of all surgeries:

Infections: In the event of an infection, it will be controlled with antibiotics.

Bleeding: There may be bleeding during or after surgery.

Hematomas: The area may bruise due to surgery.

Temporary loss of sensation: For a short period of time the sensation of the area will be limited, returning to normal in a couple of weeks.

HOW THE PROCEDURE IS PERFORMED? (TECHNIQUE)

During the surgical procedure, our surgeon will determine the amount of extra skin to be removed from inside the vagina. Through an incision in the perineum (the area between the opening of the vagina and the anus), it joins and shortens the stretched muscles in the back of the vagina with absorbable sutures and removes excess skin. By tightening the muscles of the vagina and the surrounding soft tissues, the diameter of the vaginal opening decreases considerably.

HOW IS THE RECOVERY?

After surgery, you may experience pain in the first few days, which is very well controlled with pain relievers.

It is advisable not to make great physical efforts such as sudden movements or weight lifting.

After three or four days after surgery, you can resume normal life, although the total recovery time is three weeks.

It is important to wear comfortable and loose-fitting underwear to avoid chafing and discomfort.

Sexual intercourse should be avoided for a few weeks (approximately one month) to allow proper healing of the area.

The stitches fall out approximately 15 days after the procedure.

Although the result of the vaginoplasty is immediate, to which the area is inflamed in the first weeks, only after the month can the final result be seen.

LABIAPLASTY

A labiaplasty of the labia minora (the smallest inner vaginal lips) treats an enlarged, irregular, or uneven tissue that can sometimes be caused by childbirth, hormonal changes, or just genetics.

Labiaplasty meticulously reshapes and reduces the large, irregular edges of the inner lips of the vagina.

Labiaplasty can be performed in the following situations:

  • When the vaginal labia minora are very large;
  • They cause discomfort during sexual intercourse;
  • They cause discomfort, embarrassment, or low self-esteem.

PROCEDURE

Deepithelialization technique: It can be performed under local, regional or general anesthesia.

This technique has the advantage of reducing excess vertical tissue allowing the conservation of the lip flap will also preserve the sensitive and erectile characteristics of the lip.

Linear (Trim) technique: This technique is the most popular. It is done by a longitudinal cut of the lip with the removal of the hyperchromic portion (dark or hyperpigmented) redundant and the approach of the wound by means of absorbable suture.

Wedge or “V” technique: This technique reduces the size and length of the unwanted minor lip through a V incision of the lip tissue, with the following union of the edges by absorbable suture The advantage that the scar goes unnoticed, thus preserving the texture of the longitudinal edge of the lower lip and its appearance.

Oval technique: the central part of the hypertrophic lips is resected and removed CO2 (carbon dioxide) surgical laser labiaplasty on many occasions using the laser allows to make small reductions or correction of scar defects of a previous surgery even without the need for surgical suturing or the use of fewer stitches suture.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER SURGERY?

Although the recovery is not the same in all women, complete healing generally occurs around 6 months later, which is the time when the healing ends completely and the final result can be observed, however small changes can be observed day by day.

Sexual contact should be postponed 40 to 45 days after surgery.

RECOVERY

You should rest for about 8 days, lying on the bed or on the sofa with pillow support, and wear light and loose clothing.

Average Procedure Time: 30 Mins – 1 Hour

Recovery Time: 1-2 Weeks

Recommended Accommodation: 2 Days
