Browlift

Aging has different effects in the appearence of all of us, especially on our facial expressions making us look older, tired or even angry. Eyebrow lift is generally recommended to minimize creases and lines on your forehead and between your eyebrows and to reposition eyebrows slightly for a smoother and more refreshed appearance.

HOW THE PROCEDURE IS PERFORMED

The brow lift can be performed with the classic lift method or the endoscopic lift method. In the former, a coronal incision is made around the hairline which raises the brow without changing the height of the hairline. Open surgery requires a larger incision and more cutting and displacement of tissue than minimally invasive surgery. This method is usually advised for patients with high foreheads. The endoscopic lift is performed by making smaller incisions in the area of the hairline and securing the tissue in a less invasive manner compared to the classic method. This method leaves less scars and has a shorter recovery period.

HOW THE PROCEDURE IS PERFORMED?

A liposuction usually lasts between 1 and 2 hours, but the time is variable (from 30 minutes to several hours) depending on the area and the amount. Our surgeon will move the cannula between the fatty deposits under the skin, breaking the fat and sucking it out. Sometimes additional incisions are necessary to remove all fat deposits. During liposuction, fluid is lost along with the fat, and it is crucial to replace it to avoid “shock”. Fluids will be given through an IV.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER SURGERY

A girdle, stockings, or elastic bandage will be placed over the treated area to control swelling and bleeding and to help the skin adjust to the new contour. It is usually necessary to wear it for 2 or 3 weeks, and then only during the day for a few more weeks, depending on the instructions of the plastic surgeon. Results are not seen immediately after surgery.

RECOVERY

The first 48 hours after surgery, you will experience varying degrees of inflammation and bruising. The swelling is maximum 48 hours after surgery and most disappears in an average of four to six weeks, but there may be a slight residual inflammation of up to four months.

Sutures, if placed, are usually removed seven to ten days after liposuction.

You should wait a minimum of six weeks before exposure to the sun and heat, including sunbathing, due to the possibility of swelling.

Average Procedure Time:  1-3 Hours

Recovery Time: 1-2 Weeks
